  1. It looks like almost B&W, but it's actually a colour. Tomorrow, I have another shot that using the different white balance.

  2. I was sure it was b&w! I'd love to have my coffee there right now.

  3. Well I was convinced that it was black and white too. Your camera has done an excellent job with such a high contrast scene in not producing any chromatic fringing on the highlights. I do love sparkle on the sea as I'm sure I have mentioned before. It's another great image from you Ben and nicely composed too. I particularly like the lamp also. Lovely dreamy scene for me.

  4. Thanks, Ruth, Gavin.
I just checked the original NEF file and actually has chromatic fringing edge of sparkles. I guess I'm successfully removed most major one while processing the NEF and resizing for web maybe reduced it further more.
I'm pleased to see the result on this shot and one I'm going to post tomorrow. It's the feel of this midday lighting and sparkle on the water. I'm glad you liked it, Gavin.
I took few more shots of this particular jetty in different angle and time. Once I processed, I will show them in here.

  6. I like that almost blown out look here, it's quite effective in this composition.

  7. Thanks, Bob.
This was quite difficult to process, because almost no mid tone and the tone is peaked at very low (black) and high(white). I guess turned out very impressive effect though.

And thanks to Lachezar for your email. I hope commenting will work next time.

  8. I have a D70s, and have taken back lit shots like this with intense water reflections that everyone thought was black and white.

I like it, either way. Looks like a cool high contrast B&W.
