Crossing - 交差点

Auckland, New Zealand

Canon G3
F2.8, 1/160, ISO-50

This is an accidental shot. I was aiming something else but shutter did not go because of the Autofocus can not get any reasonable contrast. I put down the camera but the my index finger was still pressing the stutter button. I was thinking if I should post this but I quite like the outcome. So, here it is. I converted it to B&W and little clop. As the angle of framing may suggest this is an accidental and not so intentional???

  1. I like this study.....(???) Ben, a great recovery from an accidental take. The angles on the footpath and the road markings fascinate me, not to mention the pedestrians. I see Ugg boots are fashionable in Auckland - a uniform for the young no doubt.

  2. Hey Ben, it's an excellent outcome! The strong angled lines really dynamically thrust attention to the top right corner, powerfully making the figures the main point of subject. You could have kept quiet about it being accidental and let us all believe you had created a great artistic shot. hehehe! The line painted on the road contributes a lot too, filling that bit of road space perfectly and the hatch nicely breaks up that pavement space. So often we are so conservative with our photography, its refreshing to see something expressive once in a while.

  3. Cheers, Lesley and Gavin.
I guess this is an example of that we should not delete ones directly from camera before checking in a larger screen...
I usually do not take this type of angel shot, but sometimes it is quite effective like you guys pointed out. But, I still think it's not always the case.

  5. Hey, aren't you heading into summer there? Why the chugs? :)

I like this street shot too.

  6. Cheers, Ruth.
I have absolutely no idea about this fashion, but must be something among young stars. It was taken in Auckland in September.
